A suicide car bombing has rocked a police station in Somali’s capital of Mogadishu killing at least three police officers
According to Mogadishu Police Chief, there were multiple blasts one hit a tea stand in front of the police station where new recruits are trained at 21st street in Mogadishu’s Waberi district while the second one occurred after a vehicle with heavy laden explosives hit the gate of a restaurant near Hero Gadiid HQ which is frequented by police officers, said Gen Ali Hersi Barre, city’s police boss.
The hit police station is close to the recently attacked, popular Lido beach in January where up to 20 people were killed.
No one or group has so far claimed responsibility but Al Qaeda affiliated jihadist group, Al-Shabaab frequently employ suicide missions targeting government officers, police and army personnel.
