25 people were killed in yet another suicide bomb attack in Cameroon on Monday 25th January 2016.
Cameroon police reports indicate that four suicide bombers struck Bodo central market in a village in Cameroon’s far north region killing 25 people and injuring several.
Police described the blast as a well-planned suicide mission with two bombers suspected to be allied to Boko Haram struck Bodo central market while the others detonated hitting the town’s main entrance and exit points.
Cameroonian troops are part of 8,700 strong regional force created to fight Boko Haram insurgents. The militant group has wages a six-year campaigns gaining strong foothold in northeastern part of Nigeria.
The militant group Boko Haram pledged allegiance to Islamic State in 2014 and has expanded its campaigns to the neighbouring countries including, Chad, Cameroon and Niger.
Monday’s suicide blast at Bodo market in Cameroon came barely two weeks after a suicide bomber killed 12 people and wounded at least one other in an attack on a mosque in Kouyape in northern Cameroon on January 13.
