With their communication and infiltration capabilities reduced by Kenya Defense forces in South Somalia and by AMISOM in Mogadishu, the Amniyatt Mukhabarat group of Al-Shabaab is still effective. It is active and more capable than the TFG intelligence units are. It is able to infiltrate the government, areas it occupies and even those occupied by AMISOM.
Al-Shabaab intelligence service, the Amniyaat is dangerous for it gathers intelligence used in attacking and destroying targets with precisions and speed. Such operations have been reported in Mogadishu and in various instances where Kenyan defense forces were ambushed. The Amniyaat gathered the intelligence, advised on the best attack possible and the logistical aspect of such an operation.
