Harakat al-Shabaab al-Mujahideen terrorists in past one week issued over 3 statements announcing incursions in the Republic of Kenya’s North Eastern Province (NEP).
In their propaganda, the terror group reported crossing the border into Kenya from Somalia and controlling of villages.
Intelligence reports admit 8-12 militants armed with Kalashinkovs (AK47 Assault riffles) briefly entered the village of Bulujul in NEP. A joint Counter-Terrorism task force mounted a rapid response operation targeting the small group of terrorists. None of the members of the terror group was arrested or killed. Military Intelligence reports show that, the group was in Bulujul for less than 20 minutes. They immedeately crossed back to Somalia since they were anticipating Kenyan Military attacks.
In other statements, Shabaab al-Mujahideen terrorists claimed they made incursions El-Kambere village near Garissa and Konto village in Wajir area of the NEP.
Intelligence shows the incursions were structured. The elements estimated the time army troops would arrive then they ran away. This is indicative of propaganda and trickery to get media attention.
Counter-Terrorism operations targeting these operatives have been intensified by Kenya security services.
