ATFs Kenneth Melson has been reassigned to a Justice Department policy office after a highly criticized operation code named ‘Fast and Furious’ to investigate Mexican gun smuggling rings went sour.
ATF had damning intelligence implicating the Obama administration on the free gun flow.
Kenneth Melson allegedly secretly confessed that the Obama administration is culpable of allowing dangerous weapons to knowingly be allowed to cross the border with Mexico before the new twist on the tail.
CIA operatives had informed government officers that Mexican drug cartels use US government official to smuggle guns across the borders.
The operation was stopped after U.S. Border Patrol agent Brian Terry was killed in a shootout with the same guns being smuggled and checked by ATF.
Federal Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms agents were assigned the job of watching and gathering the detail of how the drug kings buy and smuggle guns to Mexico in the ‘Fast and Furious’ operation.
The instructions were clear, the operatives were to watch the drug dealers and how the buy and smuggle guns and not to interfere with these activities.
The guns under investigation landed to the drug kings in hundreds and until two of them were found where a U.S. Border Patrol was killed.
Fast and Furious was stopped and ATFs Kenneth Melson reassigned while the man who authorized it, Dennis Burke, the U.S. attorney in Arizona, resigning.
