Kenya air force jets conducted successful airstrike late Monday targeting bases of Harakat Shabaab al-Mujahideen Movement, Al-Qaeda’s affiliate in Somalia.
Al Shabaab suffered heavy causalities in the airstrike, Military Intelligence BDA reports show.

Kenya Army (Kenya Defense Forces) launched the airstrikes to eliminate the strategic value of the forward base and the operators, mainly Al Shabaab mid-level commanders in the Gedo region.
The airstrike was successful and we were able to eliminate a critical threat to security in Somalia and Kenya.
