At least nine militants including a local commander of the Taliban group were killed during airstrikes conducted by Afghan air forces in Ghazni province. Ghazni Province is located in the eastern parts of Afghanistan.
Military aircrafts targeted the hideouts of Taliban militants in Andar district of Ghazni province. The Taliban militants have not commented regarding the operations so far.
This comes as the security situation in some districts of Balkh and Ghazni provinces has deteriorated during the recent months.
Taliban militants are active in some restive districts of the two provinces and often conduct terrorist-related activities. The Afghan forces frequently conduct counter-terrorism operations against the anti-government armed groups in the two provinces.
