The Islamic States terrorist group branch in Mozambique, Ahlu Sunnah Wa-Hamo (locally identified as Al-Shabaab) issued a statement through ISIS Central media outlet Amaq agency claiming it killed 7 civilians in Nangade district in the Cabo Delgado prefecture, north of the country.
The area is near the border with Tanzania and lies near the Ruvuma River basin. It is also near the villages where 13 Tanzanian civilians were killed.
Ahlu Sunnah Wa-Hamo terror group is assigned to ISIS “Central Africa” branch. Their capabilities appear to be improving over what they were last year at this time. Also, it is clear that they now have open lines of communication with the ISIS Central.
