At least 68 militants among them two foreign militants hailing originally from Pakistan have been killed or wounded during the separate operations of the Afghan and U.S. forces in south-eastern Ghazni and Paktia provinces.
The 203rd Thunder Corps of the Afghan Military in the Southeast and the Afghan Air Force confirmed the killing of the terrorist on both ground and aerial assaults. Also, The Afghan forces also discovered and defused four improvised explosive devices during separate operations in Ghazni and Paktia provinces.
Afghanistan has been fighting off militants in various parts of the country and as such the killing of the 68 is a major gain and proves that security operations have been effective. Intelligence reports have further indicated that ISIS is seeking to create safe havens in Afghanistan and neighboring countries as they are driven out of their strongholds in Iraq and Syria.
