NATO Report on militants operating between Afghanistan and Pakistani
Over 60 militants were killed by Afghanistan military forces backed by NATO elements today.
Afghan security forces confirmed that they were backed by western firepower in the operation near border with Pakistan.
Over 60 Taliban-linked Haqqani network militants were killed Wednesday.
Intelligence sources in Afghanistan report that the National Directorate of Security, Afghanistan’s main intelligence agency had intelligence about the Haqqani network militants who were planning to attack military bases.
Afghan intelligence reports that about 300 Haqqani insurgents and foreign fighters were attacked by allied forces when they attempted to storm Afghan bases in Ziruk district of Paktika province.
