The Touareg IMGHAD and Allies Self-Defense Group (GATIA) and the Movement for the Salvation of Azawad (MSA) announced that on Thursday 22/02/2018, its forces destroyed an Islamic State in the Greater Sahara (ISGS) camp in the area of Inkadagotane, about 60km southwest of Ménaka.
Following these clashes, the insurgents were defeated, and their base was destroyed. The forces killed 6 ISGS militants, Nigerien army vehicle, motorbikes, arms, and ammunition seized.
GATIA and the MSA, while resolutely committed to securing people and their property and as such the security sweeps are still underway to rid Mali of the terrorists.
ISGS are a group found in Burkina Faso and Mali and led by the infamous Adnan Abu Walid and are responsible for various attacks on civilian populations in both countries.
