At least six people including a Congolese soldier were brutally killed by Islamic State Central Africa Province (ISCAP) DRC in Masekude village in the Batangi- grouping. Mbau, sector of Beni-Mbau, in Beni territory in North Kivu.
Intelligence reveals that the victims were gathered by the militants savagely hacked with machetes near the Samboko river. Before the killings, the jihadists attacked a military barracks which led to the delayed response to the attack in the village and left at least three people seriously injured.
Samboko Tchanitchani area has been attacked by ISCAP repeatedly in the last weeks and is believed to have a base for the insurgency in the vicinity despite efforts by the Congolese military to root out the growing threat caused by the ever-growing ISCAP terror group.
