Anti-Terror Police Unit (ATPU) officers arrested five terror suspects as they did surveillance at a popular joint along Kiambu Road.
Preliminary police reports indicated that the suspects were arrested on Saturday 1th January 2020 and several items were recovered from them.
The police recovered a car, one pair of Kenyan Air Force trousers, a jungle T-shirt, a jungle hut and a jungle pair of trousers.
Also recovered was money in various currencies and denominations, a laptop, a US passport, a US embassy security card and various cheques.
The terror suspects have been identified as Mohamed Hassan Bario, a Somalia national, Mohamed Adan a Kenyan and was the driver, Ms Hodan Abdi Ismail, a Somalia national, Ms Ifrah Mohammed Abshir, a Somalia national and Mohamed Abas Mohamud, a US citizen.
The terror suspects to undergo thorough interrogation. Kenyan security agencies have intensified a crackdown on terrorists, following reports that they were planning to hit strategic establishments either in Nairobi or its environs.
