At least four security officers were injured following a hand grenade attack that targeted a security checkpoint in the capital, Mogadishu.
Reports indicate that the attack took place at the Tarabunka junction, where Somali police man a vehicle search point.
The police responded with gun fire with two civilians nearby being injured by the stray bullets.
There was no immediate claim of responsibility for the grenade attack, but such targeted attacks are associated with the Al-Qaeda affiliated Al-Shabaab fighting to topple the Federal Government of Somalia.
