Wednesday evening, four Somali civilians perished in Barawe after they were caught indiscriminate crossfire between Al-Shabaab terrorists and AMISOM troops.
The incident took place at Suta Beel which is about 10 kilometers from Barawe town. A group of heavily armed Al-Shabaab terrorists attempted to attack an AMISOM convoy but were met with resistance.
Six terrorists were felled while four civilians were caught in the gun fight and killed. Several arms and ammunition recovered. Overwhelmed, the Al-Qaeda linked Al-Shabaab fighters fled in to the bushes several with gun injuries. Soldiers who sustained injuries from the battle receiving treatment.
Al-Shabaab has not commented on this botched attack that left six of their fighters and four innocent Somalis killed as they normally do in their exaggerated propaganda.
