30 militants including 16 Daesh loyalists and 14 Taliban fighters have laid down arms and joined peace process in eastern Nangarhar province of Afghanistan. According to military sources, the militants surrendered to the Afghan intelligence agency after heavy military pressures applied over ISIS and Taliban.
The militants are said to have handed over 32 light and heavy weapons echoing that the peace process in Afghanistan ought to be endorsed by both sides of the fold t ensure that the country made positive strides towards stability.
Before joining the peace process, the former fighters for years had been active against the government in Momand Dara, Khogyani, Sherzad, Ghanikhel, Achin and Nazian districts.
This comes after last week 54 Taliban militants joined peace process in eastern Nangarhar province of Afghanistan.
