Three female suicide bombers carried out a deadly attack outside a refugee camp near Maiduguri in North-Eastern Nigeria in an attack that killed at least 27 people and injuring scores. Borno State is still one of Boko Haram’s strong holds and has seen a surge in violence in recent months.
According to human intelligence on the ground, the attack was conducted in two successive explosions all orchestrated by women. The first female blew herself up near the camp as a trigger for panic while the other two followed suit as people closed shops and run for their lives.
The attacks have increased in the past month as intelligence indicate that Boko Haram has regrouped and is slowly regaining strength and ground after a report of defeat by the government forces last year.
