3 Al Shabaab Dead, Dozens Injured In Averted Attack At Military Base In Hiiraan

AMISOM troops backing Somali security forces killed 3 al Shabaab militants and injured dozens of others after heavy gunfire in Bula-burte town in Hiiraan region of Somalia. The heavy fighting occurred after the allied forces ambushed an al Shabaab platoon that was planning a major attack in the town.

The al Shabaab militants attempted to fire mortar shells at the military base but were met with significant resistant seeing as the allied troops were prepared and expecting the terrorists. The intelligence agencies within the government and peacekeepers have bolstered their efforts in the last few months which has increased the number of the successful aversion of attacks by the militants and assaults on their positions and enclaves.
