Dozens of deported youths have joined the outlawed terrorist group Al-Shabaab, intelligence sources in Barawe confirm.
20 boys deported by Kenyan security services to Somalia have joined the militant group and are undergoing training in militancy.
Intelligence shows that a quick course has been started for the young men in Baay area of Barawe.
Strategic Intelligence confirms that the 20 boys are undergoing suicide missions training and have been initiated to terrorism by Sheikh Fu’ad Mohamed Shongole who was among other top Al Shabab officials who talked to the young trainees.
Mohamed Shongole confided to the boys to complete the militancy training and be prepared to be deployed against the Kenyan forces in Somalia.
Intelligence sources have warned that some of the deported men were sympathetic to Al-Shabaab or were operatives of the militant and terror group.
Most have joined their ranks and have started a recruitment drive using the deportations as their punchline.
