A premature explosion triggered by an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) killed two Taliban militants in Nangarhar province of Afghanistan.
A statement by 201st Silab Corps show that the incident took place in Bati Kot district late on Tuesday night.
The militants were busy planting IED targeting Afghan and coalition forces when it detonated prematurely. The explosion took place at 8:20 pm in Naghlo area.
The 201st Silab Corps said the explosion killed two Taliban militants identified as Noorullah and Farhad.
Taliban and other militants often use IED as the weapon of their choice to target the security forces and government but in majority of such attacks ordinary civilians are targeted, besides such attacks often claims the lives of the militants as well.
