At least fourteen Taliban group members and two of their commanders were killed in Afghan airstrikes conducted in northern Faryab province.
According to the 209th Shaheen Corps of the Afghan Military in the North, the airstrikes were carried out in Garziwan district on Tuesday evening.
The source further added that the Afghan Air Force A-29 Super Tucanos carried out four airstrikes in Aliabad Village at around 11:10 am local time, killing 10 militants and injuring 4 others.
One of the commanders of the group identified as Mullah Najib was also among those killed while another commander of the group Mullah Wali was also reportedly killed.
The 209th Shaheen Corps also added that 3 compounds and some weapons and munitions were also destroyed in the airstrikes.
No civilian casualties were reported, the 209th Shaheen Corps said.
