AMISOM and SNA forces jointly raided an Al-Shabaab base in operation conducted in Caba village outside the seaport city of Kismayo, southern Somalia.
The joint security forces conducted a disruption and clearing operation killing two Al-Shabaab terrorists linked with terror attacks in the region.
"The forces killed two Al-Shabaab terrorists. Somali and AMISOM troops are working closely to destroy Al-Shabaab and bring peace and security to Somalia," AMISOM said in a brief statement.
AMISOM and SNA have intensified their operations in all sectors as the country nears the polls.
The Monday operation comes after another clash on Sunday between forces loyal to Somalia's South-West State and Al-Shabaab in southern Somalia; over 10 Al-Shabaab terrorists killed while two soldiers also perished in the battlefield.
