Turkish police arrested 15 lawyers for alleged links to the far-left Revolutionary People’s Liberation Party-Front, or DHKP-C which is categorized as a terrorist organization in Turkey. The investigation that led to the arrest was launched by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor’s office and was conducted across five provinces
Eleven lawyers were arrested in Istanbul while the other four were arrested in Ankara after investigations indicated that is categorized by Turkey, the US, and the European Union
The DHKP-C is responsible for a number of terror attacks in Turkey including the 2013 attack on the U.S. Embassy in Ankara, which left a Turkish security guard dead and a Turkish journalist injured.
