12 Members of the Harakat al-Shabaab al-Mujahideen Movement, Al-Qaeda’s branch in Somalia were killed by the Kenya Defense Forces (KDF) at Badadhe area of Southern Somalia during a botched revenge attack.
Al-Shabaab attempted to revenge the Kenya Air-Force aerial bombardment and subsequent assault of their River Juba base that left hundreds of fighters badly injured, crippled, and 18 dead on Sunday 25th October 2015 morning.
Over 100 militants opened fire at the Kenya Army Base in Badadhe. Military scouts had picked out the targets and laid an ambush for the militants.
Al-Shabaab continues to lose thousands of their fighters during fire fights with the Kenya Army which has killed over 3800 fighters since they entered Somalia.
Kenya army continues to identify and destroy Al-Shabaab terror groups assets, capabilities, and economic lifelines objectively.
