Rwandan sensationally popular musician Kizito Mihigo has been in contact with Rwandan rebels intelligence reports shows.
The musician was arrested by police on suspicion of treason though he is a survivor of the genocide that claimed close to a million people.
Mihigo who is one of Rwanda’s great composers and singers contacted outlawed militia using skype and whatssup applications on his smartphone.
Mihigo is being held by Rwandan police alongside a former director of a Christian radio station Cassien Ntamuhanga on suspicion of planning terror attacks in the capital Kigali.
Intelligence reports and Rwandan intelligence service confirms that the two Kizito Mihigo and Cassien Ntamuhanga were working closely with outlawed rebel groups to stage terror attacks in the capital.
Rwanda claims that an opposition political group, the Rwanda National Congress has been in contact with both Mihigo and Ntamuhanga while the two have also been closely working with the FDLR, a feared militia group operating in Congo forested areas near Rwandan border.
