HUDUR: Monday 7th September 2015, a fierce fight has reportedly been confirmed between the government soldiers supported by African Union Mission in Somalia (AMISOM) and the members of the Al Shabaab movement near the town of Hudur.

The deadly battle erupted in Moragabey area which is about 30 kilometers away from Hudur town, the capital of Bakol region. This is after the Al Shabaab insurgents reportedly ambushed on bases manned by coalition forces.

While confirming the battle to the local media, Mohamed Moalim, who is Hudur District Commissioner, said that SNA along AMISOM troops engaged the militants on a fierce battle inflicting them with heavy losses.

According to Mr. Moalim, the skirmishes left dozens Al Shabaab militants dead while others fled with gun wounds. During the clash at least two civilian people were wounded.

The situation is calm and things have returned back to normal as local residents resume to their daily live works in the area, this is according to Moalim media brief.

The Al Shabaab militants have been driven out from several strategic towns in military offensive which started in south and central regions of Somalia but few remnants are still staging sporadic attacks across the country.
