Car Bomber Attack Lido Beach Restaurant near Turkish Embassy in Mogadishu Somalia


Thursday 25th August 2016, Somali police report indicates that a car suicide bomber detonated an explosive laden vehicle targeting Lido beach restaurant in the Somali’s capital Mogadishu.

Police manning a checkpoint order the car to stop and were prompted to open fire when the bomber reportedly refused to stop at the checkpoint near the beachside and the Turkish embassy.

The suicide bomber reportedly detonated the car bomb in the middle of the road. The car bomb claimed lives of 17 civilians and wounded 20 others.

The attack claimed by Al-Shabaab terrorists through their pro-website targeted the Lido beach restaurant frequented by youths and government officials.
