At least 30 people have been killed including women and children in the latest assault by Boko Haram in northeastern Nigeria. Nigeria authorities in Borno confirmed of the heinous attack by Boko Haram extremists whereby 30 people were burned and other killed.
Boko Haram raided Auno village of the Borno State, killed villagers indiscriminately and also set sleeping travelers of fire.
Corresponding open source reports that while most counts say that at least 30 have died, the death toll could be as high as 40. That would include the death of six militants.
Reports from the state government, Boko Haram militants torched 18 vehicles. Some of the destroyed vehicles included trucks loaded up with food to be taken to the markets the following day. In Auno village of Borno State, the militants stormed the village with trucks and mounted weapons. The militants killed villagers, looted and burned homes.

Boko Haram is an Islamic militant group responsible for killing tens of thousands and displacing millions in the last decade-plus.
The Boko Haram pledged allegiance to the Islamic State in 2016 but soon splintered after Islamic State leadership tried to replace Boko Haram’s leader, Abubakar Shekau.
Though Nigerian government claims to be on the verge of defeating Boko Haram militarily, Boko Haram and its offshoot Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP) continue to stage deadly attacks especially in Nigeria’s Borno State.
