Ugandan generals in Mogadishu are worried that they will not be able to make any strategic gains in Mogadishu and beyond, intelligence reports clarify.
According to UPDF, the troops lack enough manpower, skill-set, and expert tradecraft to expand and consolidate strategic gains in Somalia’s Mogadishu besides expand to Bay and Bokool areas.
This admittance is demoralizing and could force AMISOM to rethink strategy as the new phases to start making new efforts to consolidate and gain more control of Somalia are on course.
Uganda officers have also complained that TFG forces are seriously infiltrated by Al-Shabaab intelligence officers making it hard to execute operations effectively.
Ethiopia-American Progress Complication
Ugandan officers are accusing Ethiopian military of failure to provide intelligence and any form of cooperation to help them in their operations.
UPDF command in Somalia is worried that the Ethiopians report only to the Americans and shares with Kenyan, and no one else making it difficult to plan ahead.
More Al-Shabaab fighters fleeing the Ethiopians are regrouping in Central Somalia and near Mogadishu making it hard to make gains beyond current areas of Mogadishu.
