A top Taliban commander involved in planning and coordinating high profile attacks was killed in an operation conducted in Sayyidabad district of Wardak province.
According to Afghan military sources, Taliban commander identified as Qari Sahid has been on authority’s radar and has been known for coordinating attacks high profile attacks in Kabul. Sahid was killed in an air strike 23 February in Sayyidabad district, Wardak province.
The sources further added another Taliban mid-level commander and attack facilitator was also killed in an airstrike carried out on 25 February in Sayyidabad district of Wardak province.
Separately, at least 10 Taliban militants were killed, 2 vehicle-borne improvised explosive devices, a house-borne improvised explosive device destroyed during the operations of the Afghan Special Forces and airstrikes in Ghazni and Uruzgan provinces.
A Taliban and ISIS-K militant were also killed during separate airstrikes in Nangarhar and Balkh provinces, the sources said, adding that an air strike in Faizabad district of Jawzjan province.
At least 8 Taliban militants were killed, 5 were wounded, and 3 others were arrested during the operations in Herat, Helmand, and Logar provinces, the sources added.
