The Afghan Taliban also known as the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan leader Mullah Mohamed Omar has dismisses claims of pledging allegiance to the ISIS leader Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi.
Mullah Mohamed Omar who once referred to the ISIS leader as a fake caliph has refuted the claims stating that the ISIS leader only wants to dominate what has been achieved by real jihadists, the Talibans.
In a statement in which he declared the pledges to be forbidden in Islamic law, Omar confirmed that he would not allow the Islamic State to “rob” them off what they have been fighting for longer than ISIS existed.
A section of Taliban members have previously been executed under Omar’s leadership for pledging their loyalty to ISIS.
The feud between the two jihadi groups could be linked a possible battle for supremacy in relation to the September 11th attack in the U.S.
