Russian aerial bombardments have targeted on an Al-Qaeda run prison in Syria’s Idlib has killed at least 60 militants and civilians according to a report by UK-based monitoring group.
According to the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR), the prison which also serves as a religious court belonging to the al-Qaeda-affiliated al-Nusra Front was hit in the town of Maarat al-Numan on Saturday.
Syrian Observatory for Human Rights reports claim that the 60 killed people included 29 terrorists and 21 civilians as four missiles struck the buildings in the militant-held city.
In other separate reports, Syria’s official news agency SANA reported that the villages of Rweiset al-Qamoua, al-Mgheiriyeh, Hawsh al-Mgheiriyeh, Rweiset Bani Jazi and Kedin have also been liberated in the intensified Russian air campaigns.
Also Syrian forces have cut off foreign-backed militants’ key supply routes by taking control of several villages in the northern areas of Latakia Province.
Russia launched military airstrikes against the Takfiri terrorists in Syria on September 30 upon the request of the Syrian government.
Syrian military offensives have been battling and targeting militants, particularly Daesh and Al-Qaeda affiliated al-Nusra Front different fronts throughout Syria since March 2011, when the foreign-sponsored militancy began.
