17, October 2018: In an effort to reach out to the Somalia local community, KDF troops operating in Somalia under the umbrella of AMISOM conducted a free medical camp in Tabda.
Kenya Defense Forces (KDF) troops who are assigned Sector 2 by AMISOM command conducted a free medical camp providing treatment to nearly a hundred of residents in Tabda, also known as Tabto, southern Juba region of Somalia.
The free medical camp by KDF is a part of the broader contingent military activities aimed at mitigating community needs and fostering strong relations and in addition ensuring improved security.
The medical camp was a success, with more than 80 of patients particularly the elderly, children and women treated of several ailments. Urgent cases of surgical and other medical needs were attended to. Tabda residents appreciated the continued support from KDF-AMISOM troops.

AMISOM-Kenyan Contingent Deputy Commander, expressed gratitude to the locals for their continued support to AMISOM troops in sharing of valuable information (HUMINT) thereby enabling successful execution of the force mandate.
He called on more involvement by the community to making sure that their common enemy (Al-Shabaab terrorist group) is defeated.
