South Africa President, Jacob Zuma has denied any links to the corrupt arms deal with French Arms giant, Thales.
Investigators allege that Thales paid Zuma $$46,000 in the 1990s in the arms deal through Thales fixer Ajay Sooklal who arranged flights, fancy clothes, legal fees and lavish hotel stays in Europe for Zuma.
This happened when when Zuma was deputy president and was facing corruption charges linked to the arms deal.
Thales’s South African subsidiary Thint won a 240 million dollar contract in 1997 to fit four new navy frigates with combat suites.
