
OSINT SUMMARY
Iraqi forces backed by fighters from the allied Popular Mobilization Units have advanced on three fronts against Daesh terrorist group’s targets in Baiji, Hawijah, Ramadi and further tightening the noose on militants.
On Sunday 18th October 2015, Iraq forces managed to control of the al-Rashad area of the Hawija district situated on southwest of the provincial capital Kirkuk.
The forces also made significant advances against the Takfiri positions around al-Fatha area, that lies west of Kirkuk, and near Allas oil field in the south.
During the Sunday military raid, at least 30 Daesh terrorists were killed and scores injured.
Notably, the government forces have intensified on their offensives flushing out terrorists from the city of Baiji and its environs and took full control. The forces have also been able to seize and destroy numbs and booby traps in this locality.
Baiji, situated in the troubled province of Salahuddin lies some 200 kilometers north of capital city, Baghdad and is home to the country’s largest oil refinery.
At the same time, the forces also succeeded in liberating some militant-held locations in Ramadi, the capital of western province of Anbar.

While addressing the media, Major General Ismail Mahalawi, “Albu Farraj neighborhood is under full control now. The city of Ramadi is completely isolated from the northern side now,”
Iraqi has been grappling with deadly militancy since the summer of 2014 when Daesh Takfiri militants invaded and seized control of some territories in the west and north of the Arab nation.
The militant outfit has claimed dozens of attacks in areas outside their reign but similarly Iraqi forces backed by the popular forces have also managed to expel the militants from several key strongholds including Tikrit the capital of Salahuddin Province, fully liberating these areas.
