Latest intelligence report gathered reveal that Kenyan fugitive Ahmed Iman Ali who is wanted for perpetuating terror activities in Kenya has fallen out with key Al-Shabaab leaders in Somalia and that he is facing imminent death from the same terror group he has served for some years.
The report further reveals that, Ahmed Diyire’s Al-Shabaab terrorist group that has been responsible for the execution of several Kenyan Al-Shabaab fighters in Somalia for alleged spying on the terrorist group is now turning its anger on Ahmed Iman the de-facto leader of foreign fighters in Al-Shabaab.
Credible intelligence gathered from a source who escaped from Ahmed Iman’s Jaysh Ayman terror cell confirmed that Diriye’s faction is not happy with Ahmed Iman’s aggressive activities and plan on executing him.
Subsequently, Diriye and his associates have massively been killing Iman’s close allies and now they are planning to lure Iman into a setup in which he(Iman) would be killed without leaving trace of involvement of Diriye and his group.
Iman has become the enemy of the Al-Qaeda branch in Somalia since when he started controlling largely foreign fighters within Al-Shabaab and the establishment of Jaysh Ayman fighters.
Iman Ali, a graduate of Jomo Kenyatta University has become a threat to the leadership of Al-Shabaab in Somalia and him being the commander of Jaysh Ayman is seen as a step to become the overall commander of the larger terrorist group in Somalia. This has not received blessing from the terror group’s emirs and instead has caused disquiet, rift within the terrorist group, with Diriye’s faction increasingly becoming uncomfortable with Iman perceived ambition.

The rift has also been prompted by funding Iman is receiving from foreign fighters and their networks which he is not openly sharing with Diriye and his group, a further constraint on the souring relationship between the two leaders.
Iman who has been a commander within Al-Shabaab ranks and heading the prestigious group’s propaganda and media wing has his sympathizers who discreetly are said to have warned him of Diriye’s plot. At this point, Iman is suspicious of the move by Diriye and his allies, he has been avoiding meeting Diriye and as of late, been operating in isolation even as his allies are being killed and/or detained by Diriye’s faction inside Somalia.
It is imminent that pressure from AMISOM and the Somali National Army (SNA) is contributing further to the strained relationships amongst the various factions of Al-Shabaab. Also, it is possible that the parent group that Iman has worked for learnt that Iman has been trying to reach out to Kenyan authorities for help.
Sometimes back; Iman had started sending emissaries to Kenyan security authorities requesting them to extend amnesty on him and his close allies from Kenya so that they may return back to the country. In that move by Iman, he had indicated that he would be willing to collaborate with the Kenyan government and its security agencies in fighting Al-Shaabab in Kenya and Somalia.
Analysing Iman’s predicaments’ and threats over his life by Diriye, security analysts cannot rule out the possibility of Iman surrendering to Kenyan forces to save himself from the possibility of being killed by Diriye and Mahat Karate in the same way a terror commander; Haroun Fasoul was sent into a trap and ended up being killed. Mahat Karate is one of the Al-Shabaab’s emirs/commanders currently being pursued by both Somali and Kenyan authorities.
It should be remembered that during the time the late Godane led the Al-Shabaab, Diriye was responsible for organizing special operations on Godane’s behalf, such as “kill or capture” operations against those perceived to be in opposition to Godane’s leadership. Diriye in executing his role organized the attack against, and subsequent killing of Omar Hammami alias Abu Mansur Al-Amriki and the same fate imminently faces Ahmed Iman Ali.
