
EVENT SUMMARY
Tight security is witnessed outside Garissa University College which is set for reopening on Monday 4th January 2016 after an Al Shabaab attack that left at least 147 innocent people killed and seventy nine others injured.
After nine months since the siege, the University is set to reopen with students, all academic and non-academic staff asked to report back by Wednesday.
French government which recently suffered a terrorist attack promised that it will pay fees for a year for 109 Garissa University College students who survived the April 2 siege by the Somali based jihadist group, Al Shabaab.
Also to benefit include the students who were transferred to Moi University, Eldoret who will receive an allowance. According to French Embassy, the aid intended to show solidarity to students who have not received any financial support.
