Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi has reshuffled his company replacing some of the key dockets including finance, defense, and interior who were sworn in on Thursday. The reshuffle comes after al-Sisi won a second term in office earlier in the year.
Mohamed Ahmed Zaki was named as minister of defense, replacing Sedki Sobhi, who has overseen Egypt’s efforts to quash an Islamist militant insurgency in the Sinai Peninsula that has seen scores of security forces killed in recent years.
The shakeup in the defense ministry has been viewed as the much needed renewed energy to completely decimate ISIS elements and other jihadists in Egypt as well as cross-over terror organization and activities from neighboring Libya.
