
EVENT SUMMARY
In the past days sporadic ambushes linked to Al Shabaab militants have in witnessed.
In Northeastern Kenya County of Mandera, the militant lately ambushed an army truck where one soldier lost live and two of his colleagues were injured.
The militants allege to have crossed over to Kenyan territory on another occasion through the porous border claiming to have lectured locals of Mandera.
In the Lamu’s Boni forest operation linda Boni is ongoing to eliminate the remaining active cell Jaysh Ayman linked to Somali based Al Shabaab.
Wednesday 16th December night, another suspected Al Shabaab gunmen attacked a pharmaceutical vehicle, removed the medical supplies, then torched the vehicle and fled towards Boni.
The gunmen killed the driver together with his loader.
Police responded, condoned the area. Heavy exchange of fire ensued and the manhunt continued.
Citing these militant linked occurrences, security has been heightened across the country. Early in the week intelligence issued an alert of possible attack in Kakamega and other major towns in Western Kenya region.
Security since then has been deployed on the areas warned about including learning institutions, malls, supermarkets, entertainment joints such as bars and restaurants. The militants also target government installations.
Police urge citizens to exercise caution and remain alert during this festive season.
Meanwhile images of most wanted terrorists have been released. The individual terrorists have been on the police watch list for more than a year with intelligence warning possibility of some to have fed Al Shabaab camps in Somalia.

Intelligence reports termed them as “armed and dangerous” and indicate they may have sneaked back into the country.
Among the suspects in the police watch list include, Abdifatah Abubakar Abdi who also goes with alias Musa Muhajir, he is of Somali descent, lived in Mombasa but was deported.
Abdifatah Abubakar Abdi associates include, Abdalla Muumin Abdalla, Suleiman Mohamed Awadh, Abdalla Siraj Marum, Mohamed Ali Ahmed and Hussein Said Omar alias Babli.
These terrorists are wanted for either planning or orchestrating terror in the Mpeketoni attacks of June 2014.
Others on the police watch list are Issa Abdalla Ahmed alias Kauni and Abdikadir Abubakar Abdikadir who were reported missing by their families in November last year.
Intelligence point these fled their home in Malindi to join the Somali based Islamist group, the Al Shabaab.
Kenya’s security agents urge members of public to provide information regarding their whereabouts but also warned that they are armed and dangerous.
