Sea-borne aggression along Kenya’s maritime zone by Al Shabaab militia group should be a key worry for the country whose tourism industry hugely depends on the coastal region.
Security along Kenya’s coastal region and areas surrounding is heightened following threat issued by Islamist terror group Harakat Al Shabaab al-Mujahideen.
Somalia-based terror group issued a threat to the Republic of Kenya that they are bound to strike at any time, especially along the Coast.
Hotels, coffee shops, public transport, churches are key Al Shabaab targets. Kenya Navy Coast Guard Commandos are on high alert along the Coastal region to ensure that no sea-borne aggression takes place as security agencies keep watch on both locals and tourists.

Intelligence reports show that the group is making quick advances towards the country’s major towns, especially towards the Coast.
The group further targets places where they intend to hit hard and destabilize the country’s peace and economy hence Coastal region threat.
Security agents and intelligence teams are however on alert and framing Al Shabaab terror suspects through manhunt, tapping of telephone conversations and freezing of suspicious accounts which are suspected to fund terror groups.
