Chad Military has carried a series of airstrike offensive against the militant Boko Haram bases in Nigeria.
This is in retaliation for twin bombings Chad has faced in the country’s capital N’Djamena that claimed lives of at least 34 people.
Chadian airstrikes caused heavy human and material damage destroying six of the militant’s operational bases.
Chad has been on the forefront in the regional military campaign that has seen Boko Haram suffer a series of defeat since January.
According to Army Spokesman Colonel Azem Bermendoa, Chad Defence Forces and Security Agencies will not relent on war against the militant group. “We will hunt down these terrorist without mercy and without fear of law so that spilling the blood of Chadians will not go unpunished,” Colonel said in a written statement.
Chad government has also announced raft measures deemed to tighten security in the capital. This includes a total ban on head to toe turbans and burqas.
