Angola and Kenya, 2 of Africa’s largest economies are seeking to strengthen ties after Angolan Head of State, João Lourenço agreed to visit Nairobi this year. President Uhuru Kenyatta of Kenya, through his Minister of State for Foreign Affairs and International Trade, Monica Juma, invited Angola’s new President João Lourenço to Nairobi. Representatives of both governments are working on a preferred date before the end of this year (Circa 2018).
Kenya’s Minister of State for Foreign Affairs and International Trade, Monica Juma, has been in Angola in a bid to improve the bilateral relationship between the two countries. She held meetings at the Angolan Presidential Palace in Luanda. The two countries seeks to strengthen cooperation relations in the areas of oil and transport. Kenya seeks to learn and benefit from Angola’s vast knowledge in the field of petroleum. Nairobi also wants to increase number of flights to Luanda to allow greater movement of citizens.
