Intelligence experts have warned the general Kenyan populace against spreading false terror alerts. This comes after several messages were circulated during the weekend warning people to keep off traffic and other populated areas. The experts advised that any alerts should be forwarded to the intelligence agency to allow verification and validation of the threat.
In the same breath the Kenyan government has deployed Kenya Police in keys area of the East African country. The Kenya Police deployment to the key areas is in a bid to preempt any terror attacks that could be targeted at very populated areas, colleges, tourist areas and malls.
The Kenya Police deployment to these areas is mainly based on previous patterns of attack by the al-Shabaab in the past in the country. The Kenyan government is deeply dedicated to ensure that its citizenry as well as visitors are safe and protected.
The police deployed will work in collaboration with other security agencies to foil attacks beforehand, conduct reconnaissance in the areas that are more prone to attacks.
Last week the world tourism body dismissed the travel advisories to Kenya and urged tourists to travel to the beautiful East African country. The Kenya Police deployment is also aimed at instilling the confidence of the visitors and tourists that there safety is guaranteed.
This deployment is among the major steps that have been taken in keeping the Kenyan public safe, beef up security countrywide and countering any imminent attacks.
