The boy found dead in Maine on Saturday has been identified as as 6-year-old Camden Pierce Hughes of Texas, son to Juli Mccrery of Irving, Texas.
Police had released a computer-generated picture of Pierce Hughes in an attempt to seek identification of the dead boy.
Early Wednesday, police took into custody Juli Mccrery of Irving, Texas, for questioning in relation to the dead boy.
Juli Mccrery was taken in at Massachusetts State Police custody in Concord where she confessed to killing her son, Camden Pierce Hughes.
Camden Pierce Hughes’s body was found wrapped in a blanket in South Berwick, Maine over the weekend. The body lay near a dirt road.
The break in the case came Wednesday morning. Police trooper spotted a blue Toyota Tacoma pickup truck at a Chelmsford rest area off I-495 that matched the description of a the one witnesses spotted at the Maine crime scene.
Juli Mccrery was driving the vehicle and the trooper took her in for questioning where she confessed killing and dumping her son at Maine.
Juli Mccrery is a woman in her 40s. She has since then confessed to the murder.
