Kenya has once again received an awakening call to beef up security on all its water bodies in the fight against terrorism.
Intelligence experts say there could be a possibility of the terror groups invading the country through its water bodies given that the government is currently working on the land and airspace security.
This alert comes at a time when Kenya is still healing from the Garisa attack which made the country lose 147 brilliant students to Al Shabaab terror group suspected to have crossed into Kenya through the Kenya-Somali border.
Intelligence experts have further warned that persons living in towns along the coastal regions should equally be on the watch out to report on any suspected member and further embrace the Nyumba Kumi initiative (a call for Kenyans to identify strangers living among them and raise an alarm on any suspected persons).
The government has also made clarifications on its recent campaign urging Kenyans that security starts with them. This according to the government is a call for Kenyans to at least be able to identify those who they live with and report on any suspected stranger or strange activities around them.
The government has further assured Kenyans that any further alerts shall be promptly responded to without any delay.
This comes at a time when the government is being accused of failing to respond to the Garissa attack alert.

i thought for a minute there that you would comment about our drinking water, it’s anbody’s guess that all our sources of drinking water like sasumua,n’gethu and dakaini are unprotected,i’m talking about 24hrs armed protection, not your ordinary retiree oldman with a rungu, can you imagine the horror if some deranged terrorist was to poison the water? or do we have to wait until it happens?
