Former CIA lawyer, Jeffrey Alexander Sterling, has been arrested.
Sterling was arrested on Thursday for giving secrets about the Iranian nuclear program to a New York Times reporter.
The arrest of the former CIA lawyer is part of the US govt crackdown on intelligence leaks.
The FBI arrested Jeffrey Alexander Sterling at his home in St. Louis.
J A Sterling is charged in a 10-count indictment with disclosing national defense information and obstruction of justice.
He was remanded and his case will be heard on Monday.
Alexander Sterling worked for CIA from 1993 through 2002, and acquired information about a secret U.S. effort to disrupt Iran
