A suspected terrorist from the militant group Al-Shabaab threw a grenade at a police vehicle in Kenya’s port city of Mombasa on Thursday.
Intelligence sources report that the grenade wounded a police officer and a civilian.
Mombasa city is a major tourist destination for both holiday seekers and celebrities who jet in to enjoy the sandy beaches and the sun.
The attack happened shortly after police officers picked up two suspects who were planning an an attack in the city which is also East Africa’s biggest sea port.
The explosive was hurled at the moving police vehicle which was carrying two suspects.
Al-Shabaab militants continue to threaten the East African power house after it deployed troops in Somalia and managed to rout the militants from their bases and economic hubs.
After being intergrated to AMISOM, Kenyan troops have achieved less compared to their Operation Linda Inchi.
