Intelligence sources in Somalia confirms that a suicide car bomber has detonated explosives killing 11 people in Baidoa.
Intelligence sources reports that the suicide bomber was targeting a former governor of the region who happened to be in the town of Baidoa.
Police officer Mohamed Salad confirmed that 11 people were killed by the suicide bomber while 20 others were wounded in the Monday bombing.
Three soldiers were among those killed in the blast which happened in a crowded business district in Baidoa southwest Somalia.
The area is largely controlled by militant group al-Shabab.
