Intelligence sources report that Sudan deployed a Sukhoi Su-24 fighter jet to bomb a catholic mission hospital in Nuba Mountains, a region in the South of the largely Muslim country.
According to Dr. Tom Catena, a surgeon who works at the hospital in a region of southern Sudan, there are no rebels in that particular area of the Nuba Mountains hence there was no point of dropping bombs in the area.
The bombs caused moderate causalities, a catholic mission worker told military intelligence sources.
A Sudanese Sukhoi Su-24 fighter jet dropped 5 bombs in the Nuba mountains region destroying a catholic hospital and an Antonov bomber was deployed the following day to bomb the same targets.
Nuba mountains is a region of southern Sudan where government troops and rebel forces are fighting.
Dr. Tom Catena termed the attacks as war crimes.
