Kenya will not withdraw its armed forces from Somalia as a preemptive strategy to stymie terror attacks in the republic, the country’s deputy president said in a statement.
The Kenya Defense Forces, KDF will remain in Somalia and continue with the operations to destroy militant cells and economic resources in Somalia under the AMISOM mandate.
Exiting Somalia is not an option, Deputy President William Ruto told journalists.
Such a move will be equivalent to cowardice the deputy president stated.
The government is engaging all agencies particularly the judiciary which has allowed dozens of terror suspects to go free only for them to be involved in terror attacks.
